| Part of the BC Innovation Council Awards tradition is to organize a two-day career program for over 70 high school students from across the province. |
The program coincides with the awards dinner and the students are invited to the ceremony as guests of the BC Innovation Council to meet some of the many representatives from the industry, academic and research communities who attend.
The students who participate are BC's Regional Science Fair Winners who represented British Columbia at the annual national competition. In addition to attending the dinner, one student is invited to address the audience to discuss his/her career aspirations and experiences at the science fairs.
This program is part of our Human Resources in S&T initiative. To remain competitive in a knowledge-based economy, British Columbia needs up-and-coming scientists and engineers skilled in high technology fields. It's an investment in the future we're proud to make.
