BCIC promotes innovation education by coordinating and facilitating science and technology outreach programs to primary and secondary schools in B.C. Through initiatives such as outreach workshops, science fairs and a science outreach directory, BCIC provides educators with resources to build B.C.'s innovation culture. By partnering with teachers, schools, school districts and outreach organizations, BCIC strives to encourage participation in science and technology education.
BCIC also provides fellowships to faculty in B.C. post-secondary research institutions. By supporting their participation in technology commercialization opportunities in advanced technology industries, honorary fellowships are awarded. BCIC recognizes faculty who have a distinguished record in commercializing technology and who continue to further build and sustain the province's innovation culture.
