Science fair winners who represented B.C. at the Canada-Wide Science Fair in May 2008 gathered in Vancouver for Innovation Exploration, a program produced by BCIC in cooperation with the Science Fair Foundation of British Columbia. From September 27 to 29, the three-day event allowed students to meet and network with leaders from B.C.'s science and technology community. The agenda focused on ideas, education, and career development, followed by student attendance at the 2008 British Columbia Innovation Council Awards.
At Innovation Exploration, students participated in a variety of activities including tours, speaker events and engaging workshops-returning home with many great memories:
"I had a great time in the Innovation Exploration Program. I really enjoyed the CESEI tour. We got to explore some medical procedures and resuscitate a simulator!"
- Hannah Bild-Enkin, Esquimalt Community School
"I really appreciated the chance to visit the Structured Physics Lab at UBC and the TRIUMF facility; this amazing tour was my favourite. It allowed me to fulfill one of my life-goals: visit a particle accelerator! Thank you so much for letting me go on this tour."
- Alice Jourmel, Frances Kelsey Secondary
