British Columbia Industrial Innovation Scholarship (BC-IIS) in Intelligent Systems

Engineering and computer science graduate students undertaking research projects with an intelligent systems component that have a strong potential for commercial success are invited to apply for this scholarship. A key objective is to provide graduate students in intelligent systems with the opportunity to receive exposure to the technology commercialization process including business planning, technology integration, product development and market strategy. A required deliverable will be to collaborate with an MBA student to develop a business plan and pitch the business case to a panel of investors and business executives. An intended outcome is to encourage top students to pursue their graduate degrees in British Columbia and ultimately seek careers in the province.
The British Columbia Industrial Innovation Scholarship in Intelligent Systems opportunities will be up to $20,000 for Masters students for a maximum period of two years or $25,000 for PhD students for a maximum of three years. The 2007 deadline for applications is July 6, 2007.
